Jose’s Birthday & Father’s Day Adventure

Last weekend, together with Kristal and Jose, we went to a small island on Harrison lake. We were apparently the only ones on the island. An old wooden cabin on the rocks with millions of stairs. We didn’t have electricity, everything was ran by solar power, propane or candles :) It was a nice and relaxing weekend. The Spanish team took us for the boat ride 😉 Dad was fishing, Mom and Kristal succeeded in jumping into 14 Degrees Celsius water and after-hours, (when I was in bed) The Spanish, Venezuelan and Polish team played 4 hours of monopoly. Check for yourself.

My drawings

My mom decided to post my last 12 months creations as they do start resemble recognizable forms instead of abstract.

Ginger’s StarWars

Recently I found out that few days ago there was a Star Wars day. As some of you know I am obsessed about Star Wars and all the characters. I particularly like episode V. I know all the lines and scenes there. Little video my mom prepared for you. May the force be with you.

Hawaii – Kauai

Kauai – was great. My Mom made sure we were busy every second, from off road drives, to the wild beaches, to catamaran sailing and drives through canyons and rivers and an educational Pearl Harbor visit. We celebrated my grandparent’s birthday too :) and met mom’s friend, Nancy. My biggest success was learning how to swim. Well.. I’m still using arm floaters, but I do it all by myself, in any depth you think of. I met a new friend on the catamaran, his name is Ben and he is around 30… Check for yourself, I even managed to get a picture with him. I quite like him. There are lots of pictures to go through so I am not going to write more.
See for yourself! Take your time, mommy prepared 140 pictures – I look like Yoda on one of them.

My first “steps” on skis

It has been a while since my last post. My parents kept me busy all that time but I finally managed to find some down time. Mom made a little skiing video from her phone, quality recording ;). Check it out my first “steps” on skis.

My cheeky vocabulary for mix Polish and English audience

In this post my mom decided to update you with my cheeky vocabulary and sayings. It is mixed in Polish and English. BTW I am two & a half already.

Ginger is explaining something to her mom, for some reason mom wasn’t playing attention.
Ginger, “Hallo, are you listening Lady?”

Ginger uwaznie slucha dziadka slow. Po przyjsciu do domu mowi:
Ginger: “Mamusiu czy moge dostac Mol?”
Mama: “A co to jest Mol?”
Ginger: “No wiesz, Kurde Mol”

Ginger and Daddy picked up a fish and aquarium. Ginger named her fish Christopher. After 20 minutes staring at her new “friend”, she said…
Ginger: “Daddy, when can we eat Christopher?”

For mature audiences:
Ginger and Daddy walking in town,
Ginger: I am a girl
Daddy: oh ye? what about Mommy?
Ginger: Mommy is a girl too.
Daddy: What about Daddy?
Ginger: You are boy Daddy.
Daddy: Why?
Ginger: You have long tail…

Ginger has been cheeky all evening
Mommy: Where do you take the cheekiness from?
Ginger: From Youtube

Southeast Asia Adventure – China (part6) and last one

..And here we are China! We flew to this small Island called Hainan and my mom booked a hotel far from tourists hoping to see real China. And she got it no doubt. First thing we encountered was that nobody understood the word “taxi”, until my dad drew a picture and got recognized, we were happy we got it solved. Since we booked the hotel online in Vancouver we had a confirmation with the address printed in English not in Chinese and that was a problem we didn’t think about. The second thing we learned was that everybody tried to help, the taxi driver even tried calling some friends who could maybe read English and find our hotel. As we were spoiled during the trip, where everybody was taking dollars, this time we needed the bank. Well the first bank was closed due to Christmas decorating but thankfully the second one was there for us. Eventually we found the hotel (far far from everything in the middle of nowhere) and after the first night where we couldn’t communicate with the hotel staff, again dad was showing the taxi drawing and I heard my mom saying for the first time “I want to go where tourists go”.
So my mom started calling random numbers which were on Chinese tourist pamphlets in the hotel hoping that somebody would speak English, but no luck there. At around 10:30 at night we received a phone call…seems like somebody must have helped us and made an English speaking person contact us. That night we arranged for a taxi to pick us up in the morning at 10am to go to the office and see how to get to the more visited part of the island the day after. :) We were ready at 10; taxi arrived at 11….We managed to book new hotels and transportation to a new place. 4 hours later we were in our new Hotel where we still didn’t have much chance to ask questions in English but at that point we were pro using our hands and sounds (mom making chicken sounds to order chicken for dinner)
We spent 7 days on Hainan Island, we saw the rainforest, long stretches of beaches, fishing villages, fascinating night markets and mommy went to the monkey island. I stayed with dad in the pool. For Christmas dinner we found an Italian restaurant, pizza and pasta had never tasted as good as they did that day.
We met wonderful, warm and generous people who were giving me gifts and lots of smiles. Jala, our guide for 2 days, who happened not to be a tour guide but working in the office, helped us a lot. Mom is still in touch with her via email. We left China after 7 days back to Singapore and then back home.
During my travels I met wonderful people, lots of smiles and generosity. I was like a little celebrity for them and they were celebrities for us …I guess it balanced out. Oups that was a long post…Hope you enjoyed it all.
